The Canberra Transport Museum participated in the 2024 Convoy for Kids in Goulburn, NSW using our Renault PR180.2 Articulated ‘Bendy’ Bus 717. Organisers were excited to have a bus in the convoy and mentioned the possibility of selling seats on board next year for prospective passengers!
We have confirmed our entry for the 2024 Convoy for Kids in Goulburn on Saturday November 9th, 2024.
Financial Members ONLY may board the bus in Bradfordville prior to the Convoy and ride the bus to the showgrounds, noting you will need to pay $10 to enter the carnival at the showgrounds at the end of the convoy. (Contact us for time and specific location details prior to Saturday morning)
Non-financial members and their guests are recommended to watch the convoy from Auburn Street rather than riding the bus. You will be able to see the bus pass by within the convoy, the convoy commences from 10am at the Gateway Service Station/McDonalds and will follow Sydney Road, Lagoon Street and Auburn Street before turning left at the Astor Hotel and heading down Braidwood Rd to the showgrounds.
The pickup point will be the same location as our recent working bee, you should still have this address from when we emailed you the details (If you don’t, please message us). Reminder that the event is in Goulburn, and you will need to make your own way to and from.
Please note due to event requirements you will need to pay a separate entry fee to gain access to the showgrounds to view all the vehicles on show and attend the carnival. This is a fee not controlled by the CTM but by event organisers so please follow their requests on the day. We are told someone will board the bus to take payment to enter the showgrounds, this is $10 per person.
If you could please arrive no later than 08:30am for final preparations and to ensure you are on the vehicle as we will need to move it to the marshalling area to commence the run.
