The CTM holds a small collection of vehicles, all of which previously operated for ACTION (ACT Government) – Now Transport Canberra. Vehicles are in various operating states, some stats are listed below for each vehicle followed by a short update of where that vehicle is currently up to in its restoration phase or any active works. You may wish to check back here periodically for updates. We also share updates on our Facebook page. Vehicles listed in numerical order.

Current Status:

The vehicle is currently registered on historic registration. Currently we are repairing a door pressure/air leak issue, we are also changing over the rear bumper bar from our spare parts with one in better condition. We hope to have the vehicle out for an event in late 2025.

It originally came fitted with a Tieman electric wheelchair ramp which has since been replaced with a manually operated flip out ramp.

135 Was withdrawn from service at Tuggeranong Depot on 1st June 2016. On July 4th the same year it re-entered service at Belconnen Depot and exclusively operated the Free City Loop service.

The same bus completed the final ever City Loop service on 26th April 2019. On May 4th the same year, it was used on the Dennis Dart Farewell Tour operated by the CTM.

In November 2019, the bus was donated to the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) – and used as part of the ‘Orange Wolves’ art display, where retired buses were painted with indigenous artworks but local artists.

The bus was donated to the CTM on 23rd June 2025 for restoration.

Current Status:

The vehicle has been moved to a storage location for repairs to commence. We are obtaining quotes to replace some damaged and missing glass, fixing various air leaks throughout, we will service the vehicle, refit interior lights and diagnose and repair some electrical systems which are not working.

Long term we will be removing the indigenous artwork and potentially repainting the bus in it’s original livery. Vehicle is currently not registered. Our planned completion date for these works is late 2026 – early 2027 when it is old enough for historic registration.

Current Status:

The vehicle is probably in the worst condition in the fleet and requires significant work and money to carry out repairs and as such is our lowest priority. We have located a faulty air dryer stopping the bus from building up air, we’ve removed this to diagnose the fault and fix or replace the unit. Once returned we will aim to make the bus water tight again due to the long term plan to repair this vehicle it will remain stored for some time until other projects are completed. We are looking into government grants for this vehicle.

As of January 2012 it is in private ownership, for restoration to Canberra standards. Bus 675 was the first Renault PR100.2 at ACTION, operating from Kingston Depot.

It is the class leader of the 145 Renault PR100.2 Mk1 vehicles – the Mk1 designation applies to PR100.2 vehicles up to Bus 869. It was first registered on 16 April 1987. On 4 July 1992 it was transferred to Tuggeranong Depot, due to the closure of Kingston Depot. It was withdrawn from service in May 2000.

Current Status:

The vehicle has remained stored for the last 7 or so years in western Sydney, we are making plans to move it down to our local area once we have scrapped our parts bus (Bus 100), this will then be another long term project, likely to be completed prior to 674. It will likely remain stored for some time whilst other projects are completed (114, 135, 717).

In September 1989, Bus 717 was transferred from Belconnen Depot to Tuggeranong Depot along with Buses 716718 and 719 as extra shifts were created at Tuggeranong following the extension of the 333 to Tuggeranong Station.

It was withdrawn from service at Tuggeranong Depot in June 2013. In February 2021, it was purchased by the Canberra Transport Museum for preservation. It is registered as (NSW Historic) 16343-J.

Current Status:

Bus 717 is our most active vehicle and is currently registered. We have located an oil leak and front heater coolant leak that we are investigating and planning an inspection to see what has caused the leaks and undertake repairs. Interior and exterior minor repairs will continue in the mean time with plans of an eventual full re-paint.
